Synonyms: verb. fight – wrestle – strive – combat – contend – battlenoun. fight – battle – combat – conflict – contest – wrestle Everyone has been conditioned to the mindset of struggle. conflict, war and endless pushing against…whatever. We had a war on crime; and got more crime (in fact, the criminals took over the war on itself). The war on drugs—produced MORE “illegal” drugs. We fight cancer…in 1900 cancer accounted for less than 3% of known mortality, today, in the prime age groups for death by disease, it accounts for close to 40%. We have cancer “awareness”, cancer fund drives, entire segments of the non-profit industry focus on charitable giving to “eradicate cancer”. How about the war on terrorism? We could go on but the point is this: investing energy in struggle simply forms an endless looping of the conflict, investing it with increasing power until it becomes malignant, self-perpetuating, and consumes all reason from the initial focus. “Banish the word ‘struggle’ from your attitude and your vocabulary.
